Nokia -Once an Undisputed market leader in Indian Mobile Market, had a slow and very painful death due to its strategy adopted on Android Segment. Nokia had chosen Window over Android for its Smartphone which turned out to be a very costly mistake taken by Company ever. Everyone knows, what happens over a period of time, A giant has fallen. Eventually this has made Indian Market for other players like Xiaomi, Vivo, Oppo and even made Samsung to attain No.1 position in Indian Smartphone Market.

Fast Forward to June 13, 2017, Nokia has made its grand re-entry in India by launching its smartphone in a very congested mid-range segment. Nokia has launched Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 smartphones on this fruitful day. Considering Nokia 6 as most advanced phone out of three mobiles launched. Let us have quick glance at this model before we discuss further :

Processor : Snapdragon 430 Processor
RAM         : 3GB
Camera     : 16MP
Screen      : 5.5"
OS            : Android N
Cost          : ₹14,999
Storage     : 32 GB

Other features like near stock Android experience, Fingerprint sensor, Full HD display remains constant in this mobile. Specs wise , Nokia 6 is a pretty decent mobile for an Average User and Videos can be seen with HD clarity & games can be played with decent graphics. Though we haven't used this mobile, we assume with this specs available performance will be decent. Arte Black edition will be released with 4 Gigs of RAM and 64 GB of an internal storage, accordingly price of this limited edition may goes up by another ₹2000.

Design of mobile is pretty decent with aluminium frame on the sides and premium looks to Mobile. But rear side of mobile resembles to previous Lumia editions. One more good feature in this mobile is that amplifiers are powered by Dolby Atmos technology, which means a better sound quality can be achieved and good for video experience.

With decent specs, ideally this mobile should be a beast and definitely ruling out competition in this sub 15K segment. But this is not the scenario, Xiaomi is already giving a stiff competition to all competitors with its aggressive pricing of Redmi Note 4 which is a big hit in sub 15K segment and offering better features. Redmi Note 4 comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory powered by Snapdragon 625 processor clocking a speed of 2GHz against 1.4 GHz speed of Nokia 6 or with Moto G5 plus etc.,

What I believe personally is that Nokia is repeating same mistake once again which it had done in past. If it was OS selection that had laid a way to its demise then it will be Pricing strategy now. If little bit of tuning goes in pricing of mobiles, then Nokia will definitely retains its lost position in Smartphone segment.

But Nokia seems to have different plans in taking on Competitors by providing constant security updates to its mobile which wont be a case with any other brand available in the Market. One more thing to be noted is that all these Nokia smartphones will be upgraded to Android O version which will be a good thing. For mobile lovers who like frequent security patches and OS Upgrades Nokia Mobiles can be a best option.
