With official launch of Samsung Pay in India, we can say Samsung is really venturing in a still completely untapped digital payments applications market like India. Unlike other payment apps like BHIM, Paytm or FreeCharge etc., Samsung Pay doesnt require any cash to be loaded from your credit cards, debit cards or net banking services, rather loading your cards directly in Samsung Pay.
I have tested this app along with my friend on Samsung S7 edge mobile in India. Currently Smart Pay is available only on Galaxy S7 series mobiles which gets installed as a part of your OTA update. Just open the app download and install the app on your S7 mobile.
Once application get opened , just punch your card details (one time setup) and Samsung will prompt your for a digital signature . Once done, directly head to payment counter, select the card from which payment is to be done and just tap the mobile on EDB/swiping machine, Swiping machines will instantly picks Samsung Pay card details(a digital clone to your card will be made to make payments and original card details secure) and all you need to do is to enter pin number after respentative enters amount. Viola !!! Payment completed and details will be updated in Samsung Pay.

Samsung Pay is currently working on both NFC and MST technologies, though NFC will be the future of payments. For markets like India where traditional swiping machines are available rather NFC machines, MST(Magnetic Secure Transmission) will serve the purpose at almost all POS.
In my view Samsung Pay will revoluntize how payments are being made in India, pushing digital channels as carrying your plastic money is not required. But the only drawback here is that Samsung should push this to all smartphones rather only to its products before it lose its ground to BHIM or Pockets etc., Which are available in India.
